The Jets are keeping another one of their own free agents.

Backup defensive end Leger Douzable, an unrestricted free agent, has re-signed with the Jets, the team announced Wednesday afternoon. A league source confirmed Douzable's new deal is for one year. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Word that Douzable and the Jets had reached an agreement was first reported by Kimberley A. Martin of Newsday.

Douzable, 28, proved to be a dependable backup to Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson the last two seasons. Douzable played 322 snaps in 2014, per Pro Football Focus, and had a run-stop percentage of 9.4, which ranked tied for 18th in the league, regardless of snaps played. He also accounted for 2½ sacks and 25

tackles.

Bringing Douzable back seemed like an iffy prospect after the Jets went out and signed veterans Kevin Vickerson and Stephen Bowen in free agency. But the Jets were able to work things out with Douzable anyway. New general manager Mike Maccagnan has made some gigantic moves in the past month, but he's also made the establishment of veteran depth a priority, too.

Douzable had earned $1 million in 2014 on a one-year deal, per overthecap.com. That figure included $750,000 in base salary, plus a $150,000 signing bonus and a $100,000 roster bonus.

Keeping Douzable leaves the Jets with six unrestricted free agents from last year still without a team. Click through the gallery below to see where all 18 of the Jets' 2015 free agents have ended up.
