Smizzy
Panthers: Manning probably moving on February 12, 2006 12:51 PM ET The News Panthers cornerback Ricky Manning will be looking for a team that will give him a chance to start next season, according to his agent. He was used as a nickelback in Carolina last season. "I feel comfortable saying he's not comfortable with that role forever," agent James Ilver told Sunday's Rock Hill Herald. "He feels like he can be a starter in the league for the long-term. Last year, the moves they made deepened the team, and he was fine with it, he was a good soldier. But we're not willing to settle for that role long-term without looking at the opportunities that are out there for him to be a starter." Our View The Panthers could conceivably place a first-round tender on Manning, which would force any team that signs him to give up a first-round pick. However, Carolina officials have yet to say whether they are considering such a move. ..

The Troll
He is JAG. Nothing to see here. Move along Agreed, he has never done anything except in one playoff game. If the Panthers thought he was anything more than a JAG that had a one fluke game in the national spotlight, they wouldn't have drafted Chris Gamble in the first round or signed Kevin Lucas.
