Yankees: Glanville released

The News

The Yankees released veteran outfielder Doug Glanville on Friday. "It's kind of a relief just to know the situation." Glanville told the Associated Press. "I'm just going to see what happens," he said. "I'm going to kick back and stay ready. I still have some baseball in me."

Our View

Glanville will attempt to catch on with another team in need of a backup defensive specialist. His lack of offense makes him a fantasy non-factor. Bernie Williams' backup in center field for the Yanks will come from a group that includes Bubba Crosby, Damian Rolls, and Russ Johnson.
