The New York Jets said they are considering opening their new playing fields - which will normally be gated to the public - to local high schools for championship games and special functions. The facilities are set to be complete by summer 2009. ''There's a possibility we could set up bleachers on the fields," said Marissa Shorenstein, a spokeswoman for the Jets. "It's something we'd like to work out with the community. We're definitely open to dialogue." The $80 million new Jets world headquarters in Florham Park will boast five NFL regulation-size playing fields, including one indoor field with artificial turf.
