rizona handles Kansas City 73-34

Five turnovers doom Brigade in home finale

Kansas City, MO – Matt Sauk stole the spotlight as the Arizona Rattlers (8-6) defeated the Kansas City Brigade (3-11) 73-34 inside Sprint Center. 12,210 fans witnessed the first Arena Football start for Brigade quarterback Quincy Carter. Carter’s first start was over shadowed by Arizona’s near perfect play.

Sauk controlled the game for the Rattlers as he was 19 of 29 for 214 yards and seven touchdowns. Receivers Siaha Burley and Trandon Harvey each had three touchdown receptions as Arizona won their fourth game in a row. Arizona’s win will give the team a home playoff game during the first round of the 2008 AFL playoffs.

Quincy Carter’s debut did not go as planned. The Brigade committed five turnovers (three by Carter) as they scored a season low 34 points. Carter’s natural talent did shine at times but the Brigade offense stalled and seemed out of sync all afternoon. Carter finished the game 23 of 43 for 279 yards and four touchdowns. Carter’s four touchdowns went to three different receivers including two to rookie Ces’are Manning. Dawan Moss added his ninth rushing touchdown which is a new career high.

Kansas City travels to Los Angeles to play the Avengers (4-9) on Saturday, June 14th. Arizona (8-6) will host the Colorado Crush (4-10) on Russell Athletic Arena Football Monday on ESPN2.

Make sure and tune in to Russell Athletic ESPN Arena Football Monday on ESPN2. Timon Marshall and the Los Angeles Avengers (4-9) will take on Joe Germaine and the Utah Blaze (4-10). Kickoff is set for 9:00 p.m. CST on Monday, June 9th.

Just a question - who the F*#*k cares about Carter? He was a waste of an NFL player. Should we also be following the happenings of Johnny Mitchell, Blair Thomas, Browning Nagle, or more recently Adrian Clarke?
