  1. Yes, on the surface the numbers do not jump off the page and I can see your point. On most people's Big Boards he is in the top half of the 2nd round and some late 1st round. While "big time production" could be argued as an exaggeration, they are also not miniscule. Factoring in he shared the ball on a team that is in the fight for a national championship each year and is surrounded by superior teammates like Brock Bowers, well he may not be option #1. I could be guilty of having him too high on my board (maybe Maliki Correly? Keon Coleman?) also am not in favor of taking MConkey at 10
  2. Excellent take with Fuaga and Warren. Everything I'm reading is that although Fuaga is RT he could eventually move to LT. "Could" scares me so your point is well taken
  3. Not running the 40 or private work outs is not enough to make me think the Jets should pass on him. Just makes me slightly more confident in Nabors because there is more information than only game play (which outweighs combine stuff but is not everything)
  4. Love this, and Fautanu is moving up my board. Love his versatility
  5. I feel like Brian Thomas Jr is similar to Brock Bowers, Mims and J C Latham with the idea that there are evaluators who love them or hate them. I initially LOVED Brian Thomas Jr then I wached more tape after reading/listening to people who know more than I about how he doesnt run good routes, doesnt fight for the ball, and a one year wonder made me less confident in him
  6. Yep, much conflicting information/draft status on this player
  7. My Jets Big Board (Clifford S on Youtube) (Subject to change) Tier 1 (pick at 10 or trade up) Malik Nabers Wr. LSU (my most complete prospect size, speed, ability) Marvin Harrison Jr Wr Ohio State (Almost fully complete prospect but didn’t he run the 40 and no private team work outs is a slight red flag) Tier 2 (pick at 10) Rome Odunze Wr Washington (size, runs every level route excellent, not exceptional speed like Nabors) Taliese Fuaga OT Oregon St ( Jets showed much interest at the senior bowl, absolute beast, needs to imoprove pass protection) Troy Fautanu LT/IOL Washington (Rare athleticism, could start at OT or Guard,) Joe Alt LT Notre Dame (Most have him as the top at his position, his height concerns me as a no brainer pick because many OTs at his height struggle when “stood up”) Tier 3 ( Ideally trade down but would be suitable if selected at 10) Brock Bowers TE Georgia (Exceptional production at Georgia, off the charts speed, hands, matchup nightmare, National Champion, but not a complete TE, doesn’t interior block exceptionally well because of small size, not sure if I trust current Jets staff that they can get the best out of him) 2. JC Latham LT Alabama (Exceptional size, strength, athleticism but gives me negative Bechton weight vibes ) 3. Olu Fashanu LT Penn State (Athletic freak, starter for an obvious powerhouse school, struggled against Ohio State) Tier 4 (With a trade down mid 1st round for a 2024 2nd or 3d round pick ) 1. Jackson Powers Johnson Oregon IOL (Can play all positions on OL well, quickness and athleticism and strength to anchor NTs, started college career as a Defensive Lineman so less experienced OLman) 2. Adonai Mitchell Wr Texas (CD Lam-ish vibe, lean frame needs to fill out) Tier 5 (With a trade down late 1st round for no less than a 2024 second round pick ) Graham Barton IOL/OT Duke (plays all positions including center, exceptional athleticism, needs to gain NFL strength) Tyler Guyton OT Oklahoma (Athletic freak, size, speed, and length, Starter for a Big time program) Xavier Worthy Wr Texas (exceptionally fast, stretches the field, returns punts set the 40 yard dash record at this year’s combine, 6’1 but narrow frame 165 lbs) Ladd McConkey WR Georgia (superb route runner, tremendous yards after catch, big time production at big time school, lacks exceptional speed) Xavier Legette Wr South Carolina (elite speed for his size 6’1 230 lbs, raw, not a ton of production until this past season, a bit of a work in progress , will be 23 1/2 years old by the draft) Non Draftable Bustability Vibes Brian Thomas Jr Wr LSU Amarius Mims OT Georgia
  8. And even snuck in a Taylor Swift reference after Jets fan's misery losing to the Chiefs on questionable calls with her first appearance on a national NFL telecast. F U Woody
  9. I agree with much of what you stated. I just feel from the body of work we have thus far on Douglas, he is better than being duped by BYU and Wilson manufacturing a season that over the top favored Wilson. If the tape was clear that Wilson consistently threw from ridiculously large pockets hiding his struggles dealing with pressure that were evident in his tape from prior seasons, then how did Douglas not see this? IMO, Douglas seems to know what he is doing and not in over his head. So then how? Doesnt add up for me
  10. If you (and most fans) are on the side that JD is a good/above average GM it makes the Woody/Jet Blue "theory" more intriuging. JD is not McCagnan or Idzik. This team has talent from players chosen at the top, middle, end of the draft, and undrafted. Even the high picks that havent panned out can easily be argued to bad luck injuries as opposed to choosing an often injured college player (see Dee Miliner). Looking at how badly Zach Wilson's career here pannned out (and your mentioned off field question marks) is it really so far fetched to believe Woody played a role in the Zach choice at #2?
  11. I see your point , and given the importance of the QB position makes sense. I continue to feel like something is off about the selection. Just cant see how JD has seemingly hit on all other high picks (Becton and AVT were absolute beasts before injuries) and then misses with Zach when their were many legitimate excuses to pass on him for Fields or trade down
  12. Eh, Vernon Gholston, Deee Miliner were almost as high picks and had less success and barely played
  13. Maybe not anything substantial for Woody, but indirect (or direct) pressure on JD to take him. It is by far JD's worst pick and with not anything else to compare it to. Because the pick didnt work out it becomes something to look deeper into. Just an odd pick when Fields and Mac Jones played under bigger lights and not that much less athletic ability (from Fields anyway). Seems like a big gamble to take Zach Wilson when a trade down for a haul was right there considering JD's body of work.
  14. The more Zach Wilson struggled the more perplexing the pick itself by Joe Douglas has become for me. So JD chooses Sauce Gardner, Garrett Wilson, JJ, and Breece. Hard to argue that each have shown to be high end players. Becton and AVT when healthy are excellent players as well. Mc Donald and Tippman showed enough in an awful year that they could/should develop into bonifide above average NFL players. Numerous contributing mid, low draft picks and undrafted free agent steals (Echols, Hall, Ashston, Michael Carter II, Huff, Jonathan Marshall, Jason Pinnock, JFM, Adams). Then there is the bigggest pick of all in Zach Wilson. Because it has obviously not panned out it lends itself to taking a deeper dive. We are suppposed to believe that in a Covid season JD liked the idea of taking a QB from a lesser conference at a school that has a history of sending OLINE-men off to mission where they come back stronger/more mature to protect said QB, rather than taking the same trade that SF offered Miami to move up? Just doesnt seem to make sense. Add the idea that Zach's uncle billionare rubs elbows with Woody and it can just make you think.
  15. Zach Wilson has short comings that include mental blocks/reading defenses. As we experienced, unfortunalty he gave us little to cheer about, but his athletic ability gave us enough to hold on to hope at times. He is not a bust in the same sense as JaMarcus Russell (or more recent the QB that went right after him Trevor Lance). Zach Wilson seemed to work hard and has an exceptional arm. He can make throws that very few Qbs can make. I hope that we are pleasantly surprised by what we can get for him. His position (QB) alone should be worth something. Has had minimal success as a starter. The athletic ability is there. I wouldn't be surprised if we get more than what is being discussed as minimal value.
