The Jets offense took the first quarter and a half to get going, but they eventually found their stride. That will have to continue if the Jets are going to make some noise this year, the defense is spending too much time on the field. Here are some post-game notes courtesy of the NY Jets PR Department: Captains: #10 WR Santonio Holmes and #65 G Brandon Moore NFL Debut: FB/TE Josh Baker, DT Kenrick Ellis, DT Martin Tevaseu (first regular season game) New York Jets Debut: CB Ellis Lankster Home-Field Advantage: With the win, the Jets improved their home record to 3-0 this season and 12-7 under Head Coach Rex Ryan, including an 8-3 record in the New Meadowlands/MetLife Stadium. This season, the Jets have allowed just 11.0 points per game at home, holding two-of-three opponents to six points or less. Under Coach Ryan, the Jets have allowed 13.3 points per game at home, the fewest in the league since 2009 and have held 11-of-19 teams to 10 points or less. Monday Night Football: The Jets now own a 20-25 record on Monday Night Football, including a 7-5 record against the Dolphins and a 5-0 mark when facing the Dolphins at home. Offense: Category First Four Drives Rest of Game Mark Sanchez 3-7, 14 yds, 50.3 rating 11-18, 187 yds, 114.8 rating NYJ Offense 12 plays, 19 yards (1.6 avg.) 44 plays, 277 yards (6.3 avg.) Time of Possession NYJ 6:04, MIA 11:54 NYJ 24:17, MIA 17:45 Brandon Moore: G Brandon Moore, the Jets longest tenured offensive player, made his 118 th appearance for the Jets tying him with former C Kevin Mawae for the 10 th most games played by a Jets offensive lineman. Moore is now five games behind C/G Roger Duffy for ninth place. Mark Sanchez: QB Mark Sanchez earned a passer rating of 95.6 on 14-of-25 passing for 201 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions. Tonight’s effort marked the fifth game of the season that he posted a passer rating of at least 85.0 and his third contest of the season with a rating of 90.0. With his five-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, QB Mark Sanchez recorded the eighth rushing touchdown of his career moving past QB Joe Namath for third most by a quarterback in team history. The offense has now recorded two consecutive games without a turnover. Scoring Defense: Including tonight’s performance, the Jets have held their opponent without an offensive touchdown in 10 contests since Ryan’s arrival in 2009. The last time occurred vs. JAX (9/18/11). Third-Down Defense: The Jets defense held the Dolphins without a third-down conversion in the first half (0-6) and to 2-13 on third down for the game. Opponents have converted just 22-of-77 (28.6%) third down attempts against New York this season, the lowest percentage in the league. Red Zone: In the first half the Jets held the Dolphins without a touchdown in three red zone trips. On third down on all three trips, CB Darrelle Revis was targeted in coverage on Brandon Marshall. Revis deflected the first pass incomplete, intercepted the second for a 100-yard touchdown return and forced a wide throw on the third. Darrelle Revis: CB Darrelle Revis intercepted QB Matt Moore on a pass intended for WR Brandon Marshall at the goal line and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown. It matched the longest interception return in team history, tying CB Aaron Glenn’s return at MIA (9/15/96). It was the second interception of the season for Revis and the 16 th of his career. The score is the third touchdown of his career, and the first since he picked off QB Jake Delhomme and returned the ball 67 yards vs. CAR (11/29/09). Revis later registered his second interception of the game in the fourth quarter. It is the third multi-interception game of his career and first since he registered two vs. CAR and Delhomme (11/29/09). He is now tied with CB Antonio Cromartie for the team lead with three interceptions this season. His first career contest with at least two interceptions occurred vs. ARZ (9/28/08) and he recorded his first interception 32 yards for a touchdown. In every game that he has recorded at least two interceptions, he has notched an interception return for a touchdown and the Jets are undefeated in those contests. Revis’ thefts increased the team’s total to nine interceptions this season, an amount that ties with Atlanta for third in the NFL. Meanwhile, the defense has limited opponents to three touchdown passes, an amount that leads the NFL. Calvin Pace: With sacks in the third and fourth quarter, LB Calvin Pace registered his fourth-career game with at least two sacks. The last game by Pace with at least two sacks was at OAK (10/25/09) when he recorded a career-high three. This season, Pace has a team-best three sacks. Aaron Maybin: After recording a sack and two forced fumbles, LB Aaron Maybin, the former first-round pick of the Buffalo Bills, has registered two sacks and three forced fumbles in his first three games with the Jets this season. Prior to joining the Jets, Maybin had not recorded either a sack or forced fumble. T.J. Conley: T.J. Conley had a career-game for the Jets, registering career highs for gross average (48.5), net average (39.4) and punts inside the 20 (three). Nice move by Rex Ryan with the captains this week. Moore and Holmes had a back and forth in the media about the offensive struggles. Sending them out as captains sent a nice message that this team is unified. Does that make you feel better that our QB situation is a little worse than yours for the time being? You're gonna hate us again when we draft Luck. Or should I say the next coming of Marino? And I don't mean hate like, "Oh haha those silly Dolphags, they're miserable clowns." There is no guarantee you get Luck. Colts are vying for that #1 pick also, and not to mention, Luck could easily turn around and stay in college for one more year. Colts are vying for that #1 pick also, and not to mention, Luck could easily turn around and stay in college for one more year. Banking on Luck is absolutely foolish at this point. He's not the only QB out there. I'd happily welcome Landry Jones or Matt Barkley to the Dolphins if we can't get Luck. They both look like very solid prospects. They both look like very solid prospects. True, but the dolphins also don't seem to like to use 1st round picks on QB's based on their recent drafts. They sure do like them second rounders though... They sure do like them second rounders though... Fortunately our owner has already basically promised us a 1st round QB and a high profile head coach.
