But in addition to the game, one of the league’s signature fan events is also expected to move to the land of The Sopranos. Rich Petriccione, senior vice president of philanthropy and community relations for the Meadowlands Super Bowl Host Committee, told a group of business leaders Friday that the Javits Center in Manhattan originally was expected to be home to the NFL Experience, but was already booked by the time the league looked into it. The event is a way to draw in more local residents who can never get their hands on a ticket to the game. More than a quarter million visitors went through the event in Indianapolis this year. “So we’re hoping to change the paradigm — maybe move the NFL Experience to New Jersey,” Petriccione said at the event in Hackensack, via the Bergen Record. “Or we could have the NFL Experience moving around, in Long Island, in Westchester, in different boroughs [of New York City], and obviously different counties out here. So stay tuned for that. “We’re looking for big, beautiful, open spaces — [such as] airplane hangars or giant warehouses that aren’t currently being used.” Of course, if the Giants and Jets get their way, there could be an enormous empty space right next to the game site.
