eboozer
And for the APE.... No I don't intend to do this for every player tagged, just a few of the one's we were hoping to make a play for.Redskins reportedly set to tag Orakpo if no deal signed by deadline Posted by Josh Alper on March 3, 2014, 11:04 AM EST The Redskins have been knocking around what to do about linebacker Brian Orakpo’s pending free agency since the end of the regular season and they face a big deadline on Monday afternoon. Washington has to decide whether or not to use their franchise tag on Orakpo by 4 p.m. ET on Monday, something that they were reportedly unsure about over the weekend. With push coming closer to shove, though, Ed Werder of ESPN reports that they have come to a decision. Werder reports that the Redskins are prepared to use the tag on Orakpo Monday if they are unable to agree on a long-term contract by the deadline. Doing so would all but ensure Orakpo’s return since other teams would have to fork over two first-round picks to sign him away and would also buy more time to reach agreement on a multi-year deal that would be a better fit in the overall salary structure in Washington. The franchise tag for linebackers is $11.455 million this year.
eboozer
Out of the top 101 FA's this yr. here's what we have left at OLB: Slim pickings..... 17) Jason Worilds, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers: Finally trusted with a starting job, Worilds racked up seven sacks and 20 quarterback hits in the final eight games of the 2013 season. Was that a career turnaround or a contract push?Worilds price tag just went up $1 - $2 mil 40) Karlos Dansby, LB Arizona Cardinals: It's hard to imagine Dansby replicating his success in most systems, but he was positively electric in Arizona last year. 91) Wesley Woodyard, LB, Denver Broncos: One of the league's premier coverage linebackers in 2012, Woodyard was ill-suited to the middle linebacker role and fell out of favor during the Super Bowl run.
