kelly
The Jets' offseason is underway, and there are plenty of questions about how they plan to build on last season's promising debut for coach Todd Bowles. So let's answer some of those questions here in our weekly mailbag. ~ ~ @DarrylSlater what free agents do you see the JETS going after in the off season? 2:50 PM - 13 Jan 2016 . As mentioned above, their cap situation — and their efforts to retain Fitzpatrick and Wilkerson — will limit their ability to be overly aggressive in free agency, as they were last year. You saw some outside linebacker possibilities up top. Tight end is also a significant need for this team. And running back could be, too. Now, there's always a chance the Jets could draft a running back. But for now, let's zero in on free agent possibilities there, and at tight end. Among running backs, you're looking at guys like Matt Forte, Doug Martin, Lamar Miller, and Ronnie Hillman as some of the more prominent possibilities. Remember, though, Forte is 30 and has 2,035 career carries on his body. Those other three backs are under 1,000 carries. As for tight ends, the possibilities include Jermaine Gresham, Vernon Davis, Craig Stevens, and Coby Fleener. The Jets obviously aren't going to limit their free agency assessment to just those running backs and tight ends. But those are some notable names at two positions of potential need. > http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2016/01/mailbag_how_should_jets_address_issues_at_outside.html#incart_river_index
