No hardly because in Macs first draft he drafted an alternate for a probowl and ,issed on one because of injuries the rest of his guys are in the league in his first 2 drafts he has at least with the exception of qb has found some talent can anyone say that about idzicks draft? The numbers and names are in front of you. haters gonna hate the fact facts but idzick left this team with no talent.  So Macs job is easier because no matter where he drafts he will fill a need. Get made for drafting hack fine I get it but be mad because he drafted player and the team is still bad blame the previous regime and the fix it quick plans.

But do not pretend you know more then the guys getting payed to do the talent evals (I don't)now compared to previous regimes.

Look at the draft grades  for us and let me know the last good draft was 2011 before Mac

OK, I'll bite.

2015

Round 1, Pick 6 Leonard Williams, DL, USC        Good pick.  But an absolute luxury pick considering Sheldon Richardson, Snacks Harrison, Mo Wilkerson were all on the roster.  Not to mention He made Snacks expendable.  Snacks was a much bigger asset.  The signing of Mo to a huge contract in addition equals poor management.

Round 2, Pick 37, Devin Smith, WR, Ohio State-injury prone soon to be out of the league if he cant stay healy    Hot garbage.  Huge whiff.

Round 3, Pick 83, Lorenzo Mauldin, OLB, Louisville      Great story.  Not a good NFL player.  Underperformed the last two years and is not a real pass rusher, lost in run defense.  He and Devin Smith will be lucky to finish out their rookie contracts.

Round 4, Pick 103, Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor actually started a few games before getting hurt at best back up qb    Bad pick could have been had later.  Will never win a starting job anywhere.  So poor in practice he caused Mac to reach for Hack who is by most accounts worse than Petty ever was.

Round 5, Pick 152, Jarvis Harrison G, Texas A&M -Bucs has not played a game (no stats at least)  Project player who hasn't seen a snap. And likely never will.

Round 7, Pick 223, Deon Simon, DT, Northwestern State   Could be a find.  Good pick.  Unfortunately he's also another Dlineman

So this entire draft amounts to 2 defensive lineman, really.

2016

Round 1, Pick No. 20: Darron Lee, OLB, Ohio State    Got eaten up by blockers in the run game.  Could not cover worth a damn (which was supposed to be his upside)

Round 2, Pick No. 51: Christian Hackenberg, QB, Penn State   In the second round.  Oof.

Round 3, Pick No. 83: Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia  Not special, not terrible.  Could become a fair starter in time.

Round 4, Pick No. 118: Juston Burris, CB, North Carolina State  Hard to see him make the squad this season to be honest.

Round 5, Pick No. 158: Brandon Shell, OT   Project that held the fort during a spate of injuries.  Probably sticks around due to poor OLine management and a dearth of talent at the position

Round 7, Pick No. 235: Loc Edwards, P, Sam Houston State  Drafted a punter.  An inconsistent punter.

Round 7, Pick No. 241:Charone Peake, WR, Clemson  Like Dion Simon, could be a player in time.  Sat behind two UDFA's all season, though.  Not a great start.

So this draft amounts to an underperforming MLB, a JAG OLB, and a backup tackle.

Idzik's best players were:

Sheldon Richardson: Defensive Rookie of the year and Pro Bowl selection.

Brian Winters: Starting at guard and just signed a new contract.

Calvin Pryor: Starting safety

Quincy Enunwa: a late-round steal and likely our WR 2

Honorable mentions to:

Dexter McDougle: despite your list he is in fact on the Jets roster and was signing autographs at the draft party at Metlife

Tommy Bohannon: did a decent job but let go because Chan Gailey felt he didn't need a full back or a TE (Jace Amaro led rookie TE's but was shown the door)

Trevor Reilly: solid back up and special teamer

Geno Smith:  Giants QB 2, is actually better than anyone currently on the Jets roster at the position.
