Quick Exit for Pens...

You there Carl?

Yup. The Pens got the toughest first round draw of any team. They are also the youngest and most inexperienced team in the playoffs. After they take care of getting better on the blue line and another decent scorer, they'll be back and even better next season. This season was a surprise to most and the playoffs, while being hard fought was just gravy. Ottawa could win this entire thing if they play like this the entire postseason.

They didn't look like the same team. They only went 4/28 on the powerplay. Gave up stupid penalties at the worst times. The 3 & 4 lines pretty much got dominated the entire series. They should be back next season and hopefully this experience helps them. The Sens looked the best I've seen them this year, how much the penguins had to do with that, we'll find out in the next round.

I would've much rather played the sens than the Lightning.

ottawa is a much better matchup for the Devils than TB is.

Pens made a giant leap this year, and with a few tough, smart blueliners they will be a better team next year. whether they become serious cup contenders depends on if Fleury ever plays up to his ability again.

Given the talent in front of him, defensively speaking, Fleury was pretty much the only thing that made every game, except for the first one, close. With defenders who turn it over in their own zone and cannot clear it when they do have the puck, it's hard for a goalie to be very effective. MAF stood on his head and played very well for the most part of this series. The Sens adn Sabres would be a dynamite EC final.

don't kid yourself, Fluery did not play well down the stretch or in that series

Then you obviously weren't watching.

Scott Burnside says: Marc-Andre Fleury has come a long way in a relatively short period of time. Some forget his play was so inconsistent, he wasn't the starter in the AHL playoffs the last couple of seasons. Yet, in his first NHL playoff series, Fleury more than held his own. In Game 5, with the Senators threatening to blow open the game in the second and third periods, Fleury was especially strong. A good sign for the future.

With a solid D-Line this team could go far deeo next season. Oh and MAF won 40 games this season. Just FYI.

lol...ok...you're right, a 3.60 goals against in the playoffs is Conn Smyth worthy

No, but again, with the crap he had in front of him as defensemen, and the lack of goals being scored for the team, he single handedly kept them in every game. You put Brodeur behind our defensemen and you probably see the same kind of GAA.

You should be in a padded room...

Why because I'm right? The Penguins defense is downright awful. Brodeur with awful defense isn't as good as he would be with good defense in front of him. How is that hard to comprehend? Vilma wasn't nearly as a big of playmaker this year, because the DTs in front of him didn't eat up enough space to free him to do so. That's a very solid analogy to what I'm talking about.

No. Because that comparison is insane.
