The announcement was made by Jets’ General Manager Mike Tannenbaum. Missant (6-3, 295, Western Michigan) was originally signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on April 10, 2005 and has participated in Jets’ training camp in both 2005 and 2006.
