Vin - your motherboard likely isn't a 2.8 Ghz P4 - your processor is. If you need a board to match up with your processor, I suggest an Asus. GreenBeans
The processor is embedded into my motherboard, correct? How do I pop it out to swap them? There should be a little lever next to the CPU that you pull up to allow the processor to be removed. There is probably a fan and heat sink on top of the CPU that will need to removed first. As NJ recommended, Asus would be good choice for a replacement. Another place to look is here -> http://www.pricewatch.com/ Good luck!

vinnys025
Do any of you guys think I will have a problem switching processors? If I switch processor that were in different motherboards, do you think that the motherboard or HDD will have any conflicts? Could it possibly burn out the motherboard? They are all 478 socket size and Pentium 4's. Also, what is better a Pentium 4 2.8ghz, or a Celeron D 2.8ghz processor?
