Thai Jet Posted December 13, 2007 Share Posted December 13, 2007 The San Francisci Giants signed former Phillie center fielder Aaron Rowand to a 5 yr. $60 million dollar contract late last night. This gives Rowand the long term deal he was seeking plus providing San Fran with a Gold Glove center fielder without having to give up any of their starting pitchers. mbn007 Posted December 13, 2007 Share Posted December 13, 2007 This probably does lessen the chances of Matsui going there. I am surprised with the length and dollars. Look at Rowand's career stats. Always a superb defender, with a solid throwing arm, and a lot of speed. But offensively, he was great only in Philly last year, in that bandbox. Now he is going to one of the toughest parks.
