The Jets rushing attack ranked 9th in the NFL last season with a 125 yards/game average and 5th in the league with a 4.7 yards per carry average. A big reason for the resurgence of the ground game was the acquisitions of Alan Faneca and Damien Woody, both excellent run blockers. Both guys opened holes for Thomas Jones who led the AFC in rushing with 1,312 yards.

Tony Richardson gets little credit but he is a tremendous lead blocker and was just as important to Jones
