Dolphins | Seau Mum on Position Switch

Sat, 17 Sep 2005 00:31:14 -0700

Ed Gray and Alex Marvez, of the Sun-Sentinel, report Miami Dolphins LB Junior Seau is reportedly still trying to adapt to his new strongside linebacker spot, but he's not saying much about it. Seau tried to downplay how much the shift from weakside linebacker has impacted his performance entering the team's Week 2 game against the New York Jets. "I've played all over," said Seau, who has worked in a variety of defensive schemes in his 16 NFL seasons. "I'm so old, I've played everywhere. Football is football." There was at least one noticeable sign of frustration from Seau against the Denver Broncos Week 1 when television cameras caught him and LB Zach Thomas arguing on the sideline. Seau refused to elaborate Friday, Sept. 16, on what was said but joked, "I was just telling him that I love him."

Junior is just about done. The fans love the way he has played for the Dolphins, but we know he's a Charger at heart. His next contract will last a day and allow him to retire. I hope he makes it through the year and can go out on his own terms. If not, the team has enough at LB to cover.
