Boxing night USA

Cotto looked fantastic. That was the best fight of his career, including when he clobbered Mosley for 12 rounds. He stunned Floyd a few times most definitely, Floyd even gave him the nod a few times about it and had his moments where those body shots kept him from parrying at the rate he normally does. That's about as good a gameplan as you're ever going to see against Mayweather; Cotto stuck to his lead shoulder to take away his straight right and laid back in the early rounds so as to not give anything for Floyd to time or figure out too early. Punch percentages against Floyd are usually about 45% to 10-15%...Cotto cut that in half. Great fight and definitely one of the best of Floyd's career. He looked as sharp as ever in the 12th.

Alvarez is the best 21-year-old that boxing has seen since Tyson. Probably better to be honest. A fighter being this well rounded at this age...it's incredibly exciting. I don't think there's any question that we're looking at the next true great middleweight. Only question now is whether or not Roach is willing to sacrifice Chavez to him.

Jessie Vargas continues to be intriguing. What a jab that kid has.

I watched the fight out a sports bar in Kansas. Place was PACKED...really was cool to see.

Boxing f'ed itself up in so many ways over the years but on a night like last night, you see a reminder of how popular the sport can be. (And the money it can bring in, holy PPV dollars).

Justin Beiber? LOL...
