David Harris
http://blog.sfgate.com/49ers/2014/11/21/steve-young-and-the-art-of-molding-a-mobile-quarterback/ Not that it's a draft article but whoever gets Mariota should take note. Winston isn't the most athletic QB but his clear lack of intelligence doesn't match up with the study and mastery that Young describes. Interesting his comments to a younger Michael Vick who didn't heed them. Also interesting for a young mobile QB in Geno. The main point is that you need the right player in the right organization with the structure that includes coaches and a front office that will invest in the long-term development of a QB. Which clearly it's not easy to do when your job is on the line and a young kid running around can win you valuable short-term gains when really taking your lumps, with no cutting corners, is the only way to be a truly great NFL quarterback. The 10,000 hour rule in full effect as well.
BroadwayJets
Great read. Hopefully one day soon one of these triple-threat QBs will be wearing green & white.
