Florham Park

Kristian Dyer has a report on the local prospects that the Jets worked out in Florham Park for Pro Day Thursday.

The organization hosted a number of prospects from the area at the team’s facility, having them fill out paperwork and do drills in their field house.

As reported by Metro New York on Wednesday, Cole Farrand (linebacker, Maryland), Lorenzo Waters (safety, Rutgers), Kevin Haplea (tight end, Florida State) and Robert Walsh (defensive end, Syracuse) were all slated to attend the event. In addition, sources tell Metro New York that Tyler Kroft (tight end, Rutgers) as well as Betim Bujari (center, Rutgers), Jeremy Crayton (safety, Southern Arkansas State), Kristjan Sokoli (defensive end, Buffalo), Tyson Chandler (defensive tackle, North Carolina State), Carlif Taylor (Southern Connecticut State, defensive tackle) and Neil Sterling (wide receiver, Monmouth) all were a part of the event.

Awesome, they had the Albanian in!  Sokoli is a 290 lb NT from Buffalo.  He has excellent SPARQ numbers.  Seattle loves that and this article projects the Seahawks might pull the trigger in the sixth.  That is comparing his pro day figures, so it is good they take a closer look.  He is from Bloomfield and the Giants are supposedly looking at him also - probably both hoping to grab him as a priority FA.

The pumped up Drew Gooden (Chandler) is an OT AFAIK.  They switch linemen from O to D all the time and vice versa, but it is more likely just a typo.  Long arms and 31 reps on the bench.  He is another local, North Plainfield.  Makes sense that this pro day is for local kids.

Dominator is right on Chandler - he's an OT. Supposedly had a pretty impressive pro day. Could be worth a look late as a developmental guy if they don't take a tackle earlier on.

Luxury of having a couple of 7th is you can find a couple of under the radar guys you really like and pull the trigger without really worrying about it (and like as players, not like as in are best friends with your QB).
