JetNation
By Glenn Naughton It may have felt like the 3-6 Jets’ lost season couldn’t get much worse, but today it did just that. After missing significant practice time last week before having to be replaced at left tackle by Ben Ijalana during Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins, starting left tackle Ryan Clady has been placed on season-ending injured reserve with a shoulder injury. In addition to the Clady news, the team waived free agent bust, defensive lineman Jarvis Jenkins. A defensive end who got $3 million guaranteed from Mike Maccagnan and company. Jenkins’ underwhelming performance through 8 games (7 tackles, 0 sacks) wasn’t enough to convince the team to keep him around despite the price tag. The Jets have activated WR Devin Smith. The team also announced the activation of wide receiver Devin Smith who had spent the first half of the season on the PUP list as he recovered from last year’s season-ending ACL injury. Gang Green also poached defensive lineman Anthony Johnson from the New England Patriot’s practice squad, and also added offensive tackle Zach Sterup to the practice squad.
