Sarge4Tide
Here is my amateur analysis of which UDFAs might have a shot to make the Jets opening day 53 man roster: #5 Greg Dortch WR Wake Forest Why He Might Make the Roster: He can return kicks very well, productive college slot receiver Why He Won't Make the Roster: May be too small to contribute at WR on a regular basis in NFL, several other KR options on team Chance to be on the Opening Day Roster: 12.5% #4 Toa Lobendahn OL USC Why He Might Make the Roster: Versatile OL who can play Center, Played against good competition in college, USC,/ Darnold Connection Why He Won't Make the Roster: Not NFL ready, Needs to get bigger/stronger, Lots of Competition for the last 1 or 2 spots on the OL Chance to be on the Opening Day Roster: 15% #3 Fred Jones DL Florida State Why He Might Make the Roster: Big tough kid who held his own vs. good college competition, Marvin Jones' nephew Why He Won't Make the Roster: Seemingly only 1 spot left on the defensive line, might not be a great scheme fit / sort of a "tweener" Chance to be on the Opening Day Roster: 18% #2 Kyron Brown, CB Akron Why He Might Make the Roster: Big, productive, college CB, lack of great depth at CB, can help on special teams Why He Won't Make the Roster: Several other decent options for the last 1 or 2 CB spots, not a super athlete, team spent a late draft pick on another CB (Bless Austin), team might still sign a vet FA CB Chance to be on the Opening Day Roster: 20% #1 Jalin Moore RB Appalachian State Why He Might Make the Roster: Talented, athletic, tough, instinctive runner suited for NFL game, could help on special teams Why He Won't Make the Roster: Might have to keep a kick returner as the 3rd RB, hasn't shown to be a great pass receiver, recovering from injury Chance to be on the Opening Day Roster: 25%
