Smizzy Posted April 27, 2006 Share Posted April 27, 2006 Texans | Young surprised Texans will pass on him Wed, 26 Apr 2006 21:46:38 -0700 John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Texas QB Vince Young was surprised when Houston Texans general manager Charley Casserly admitted the team would be selecting North Carolina State DE Mario Williams or USC RB Reggie Bush in the 2006 NFL Draft. "Yeah, I was still surprised when I heard about it," said Young, who came to New York this week to participate in events leading up to this weekend's draft. "I know what the media's been saying about them not taking me, but I wanted to play for my hometown team." Casserly said the team has decided to stick with QB David Carr as their quarterback. "In regard to Vince Young, what we said from the beginning is that when we hired a new coach (Gary Kubiak), the new coach would evaluate David Carr and make a decision on (Carr's) $8 million buy-back bonus.
