Usually an expert is someone that has proven their ability at something, but these guys are generally just former players who haven't proven analysis or prediction, and they haven't done gameplanning or anything either. I think the average fantasy football fan is more of an expert than the media and sportswriters. If they want to prove how great they are, they should go win some fantasy leagues or something.
