AFJF
Another Angels-ChiSox swap? The Angels and White Sox pulled off a significant deal in November (Orlando Cabrera for Jon Garland), and now the two teams are discussing another big one, the Los Angeles Daily News reports. According to the newspaper, Los Angeles would get 1B/DH Paul Konerko; Howie Kendrick, Ervin Santana and Chone Figgins are possible candidates to head to Chicago. White Sox GM Ken Williams denied the story, but a deal still is a possibility, the Chicago Tribune reports. During the upcoming season, Konerko will receive a full no-trade clause because he will have played 10 years in the major leagues, including the last five with the same team. "I would never say never [about a trade], and the reason why is that someone may come along and make an offer that would be very difficult to turn down," Williams told the newspaper. "That's how we acquired [Nick] Swisher from Oakland."
