On The Clock: The New York Jets

You know once again I disagree with this whole "playmaker" thing. Leon Washington can make plays when he's on the field and Jerricho Cotchery is perhaps the best YAC receiver in the league, right up there with the Wes Welker's of the world, but with more height and I'd like to think, better hands. So they have two #2 receivers.

As Mort said, for years New England was winning with NOBODY. Yes those teams had Tom Brady, but they didn't have a receiver who could start on any team in the NFL. Look what happened to guys like Patten and Givens when they left. Injuries and disappointments. Deion Branch so far as well as followed in the same boat.

If it comes down to Ryan or McFadden, the Jets have to either trade down to 8 to Baltimore or trade down to 22 and 28 with Dallas or draft Matt Ryan. Plain and simple. Don't give this "it means there is no or little confidence in Clemens" crap, because as Bill Walsh said, you can never have enough good Quarterbacks. Competition is key in Eric Mangini's world.
