Sonics to Oklahoma

Looks like a done deal.

Paid 45 million to get out of their lease with the Key Arena for the next 2 years......with some conditions.

Sad for Seattle basketball fans.

Went to a game there last year and the Key Arena really needs some work to be what I'll call a place you want to go to.

We lost our Grizz just a few years ago too.

Not because people weren't going, just bad management.

So that's 2 teams from this area that have moved.

Maybe it's just not pro basketball territory, dunno.

The games I went to here were fun.

Sad to see it happen but the way Oklahoma supported the Hornets when they played there after Katrina they should how much they cared about the NBA and should support the Sonics much, much more. Best of luck to them and hopefully Seattle gets a team again someday. Its amazing how well the Seahawks and Mariners do and how poorly the Sonics fare.

From what ive seen here is most just dont care about the sonics. There is already alot of excitement for the Sounders FC MLS team to start playing here next year. The Storm also get alot of support. It seems like everyone got so tired of the drama of Bennett and Nichols over the arena they just became numb.
