Isles' Tavares has foot fracture

Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - New York Islanders center John Tavares suffered a fracture in his right foot while playing for Canada during the World Championships in May.

Tavares, who scored a tournament-best seven goals, will be out two to four weeks with the injury.

The first overall pick in the 2009 draft, Tavares finished his rookie season with 24 goals and team-leading 54 points in 82 games.
