Scott Dierking
For those that were worried we paid too much: Running back Mike Goodson received a $1 million signing bonus and is scheduled to get a $1 million salary in 2013, $1.65 million salary in 2014 and $2.35 million salary in 2015. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/bucs_stop_SrTMQB95gWW07Qv94WrRUN

pedro55
nobody can complain about any signing so far, Idzik is doing a great job. He's doing his job at cutting the costs. Good, bad, great at this point is meaningless. The Draft is where it's at. If these cheap often injured FA have healthy decent seasons, it's more out of luck than statistics or advice. And if they get injured or stink, it's because that's all the jets really could afford at this point. Either way, many of these players will be gone in a season or two or backups/3rd stringers. The seasons ahead are marked by the draft, future signings. If the Jets stink, but they have a ton of great draft picks who contributed, I'd say Idzik did a great job. If the Jets stink, a couple of the cheap FA do halfway decent jobs, and the Draft picks are awful and don't even make the team, then you start to worry. Right now, who knows. docdhc
signing Goodson for 3 years is a smart investment. If he is a sleeper and is a break out player, he won't be able to leave or break the bank. If he isn't any good he won't cost much to cut loose.

Even if he isn't a break out player, fringe-starter types are exactly the kind of player this team needs to fill out its roster.
