jamesr Posted August 18, 2016 Share Posted August 18, 2016 Trouble with trying to IR a guy is that he can't then practice with the team - so you waste a development opportunity. We'll have at least 3 QBs - Fitz, Hack, Geno / Petty as backup.Only way we carry 4 is if we see enough in Petty to believe he can be good, but not enough to feel he can be good as a #2 option this year. The Walrus Posted August 19, 2016 Share Posted August 19, 2016 Very few years you would keep 4 but this is one of those years and situations, IMO. There's no one size fits all. If I were the Pats or GB or Pitt with a longer term #1 then I'd only keep 2 QBs, bringing in a vet if injury occurs. But we don't have a long term #1 so we retain 4 this year. 3 next year (eg.
