More Injury News; Winters and Herndon

Chris Herndon

One step forward on the injury front and then it is two steps back. That is certainly how this season seems to be going. Against the Giants the offensive line looked better when it came to pass blocking with Kelvin Beachum returning to the field and starting at left tackle. That allowed the Jets to slide Chuma Edoga over to right tackle in place of Brandon Shell.  The run blocking was still non existent but Sam Darnold’s performance improved as he played mistake free football with more time in the pocket.

Chris Herndon returned to the field and it looks like that will be short lived.

TE Chris Herndon fractured a rib early against the Giants and will be out an extended amount of time.

So, this has been #Jets TE Chris Herndon's season:

– Suspended 4 games for violating NFL's substance abuse policy
– Missed 4 games with hamstring injury.
– Makes season debut, gets 1 catch for 7 yards.
– Has fractured rib, could be sidelined a while.

Brian Winters was also injured during the Giants game, the news there doesn’t sound promising either.

#Jets injuries: Brian Winters re-dislocated his shoulder, Adam Gase said. “It will be hard to get him back this season.”

Unreal.

Brian Winters didn’t just suffer a shoulder dislocation. I’m told he actually tore the entire front part of his shoulder in preseason. He played in excruciating pain with a brace all season. Never complained.

He was even advised to have surgery earlier, but refused.

With Winters sidelined you can expect to see plenty of Tom Compton the 2nd half of the season. You can stop by our forums and read more about the recent NY Jets injuries.
