Rich Thornburgh
Got my draft tommorow. Last time I played in an actual league was the shortened COVID season in 2020. I came in 2nd place but I’m definitely a little rusty 4 years later. who are your top 5 players? Sleepers? Players to avoid? I’m thinking Volpe in rounds 10-12 is a solid value with his combination of home runs and base stealing as a shortstop

These will inform me on which top 5/sleepers/fades are relevant. Some guys who are targets on one format/platform are fades on others. I will say for starters that Mookie Betts was my # 1 this year in my Roto / auction / 3 OF format. He’s a cheat code to put at 2B (shallow position this year) and he’ll gain SS eligibility too. Used $59 of my $300 budget on him.

HRs are big as is starting pitching I’m laser locking on guys like Matt Olson, Alonso and Kyle Schwarber

If so I have a separate OBP list. If not, you’ll want to target some of these cheap power guys who are exit velocity monsters and/or play in hitter’s parks: * 3B Jake Burger, MIA * 1B Christian Ecarnacion-Strand, CIN * C Francisco Alvarez, NYM * 1B Anthony Rizzo, NYY * 1B Rhys Hoskins, MIL * OF Kerry Carpenter, DET * OF Jack Suwinski, PIT * 3B Matt Chapman, SF And while they won’t be cheap, if you need power at the middle infield spots, you’ll want to go after Betts, Ozzie Albies, and Oneil Cruz. As for SP, these are some of the guys I like to outperform their ADP on most platforms: * Pablo Lopez, MIN * Tyler Glasnow, LAD * Tarik Skubal, DET * Zach Eflin, TB * Joe Ryan, MIN * Hunter Greene, CIN * Hunter Brown, HOU * Chris Sale, ATL * Michael King, SD * Bryan Woo, SEA * Bryce Miller, SEA * Shota Imanaga, CHC * Ryan Pepiot, TB * Paul Skenes, PIT King is in bold because I have him way higher than most ranking platforms.
Jetsfan80
Oh and in a deep 15-team league like yours, make sure you grab pitching earlier than you think you’ll need it.

Thanks for the info. I think you get a point for a walk and -1 for a strikeout. HRs are huge so a guy like Schwarber who strikes out a lot but also hits a ton of home runs is good value in mid rounds Btw how could Cashman not have signed Schwarber when he was UFA year before last? He seriously could hit 70 home runs in Yankee stadium

Really? I’m concerned a lot of the top rated pitchers are injured or coming off injuries

Agree 100% on King and he’s another guy I’m locked on.

Gotta come away with 2-3 guys you’re comfortable with by round 10. Don’t use your first couple picks on pitching but pepper them into your round 3-8 picks.

Here’s some of those: * Betts (again) * 1B Freddie Freeman, LAD * OF Juan Soto, NYY * 3B Austin Riley, ATL * Olson (as you mentioned) * 3B Royce Lewis, MIN * 1B Triston Casas, BOS * SS Xander Bogaerts, SD * 3B Alex Bregman, HOU * 1B Josh Naylor, CLE * 2B Zach Gelof, OAK * 2B Bryson Stott, PHI * 2B/SS Jackson Holliday, BAL * SS Trevor Story, BOS * 1B Vinnie Pasquantino, KC * 2B Edouard Julien, MIN * 1B Nathaniel Lowe, TEX * Rizzo * SS JP Crawford, SEA * C Bo Naylor, CLE * 3B Matt Chapman, SF * 1B Nolan Schanuel, LAA * 1B/OF LaMonte Wade, SF * 1B Ryan Noda, OAK * 1B Kyle Manzardo, CLE * OF Matt Wallner, MIN The bolded guys above are dirt cheap and AWESOME OBP guys. Noda is going to bat leadoff for a sneaky good A’s lineup and damn near might get on base at a near .400 clip (his discipline is THAT good) while still hitting for good power. Wade is hitting 3rd for the Giants and has always been a tremendous OBP guy and has recently added more pop. Wallner is part of the new movement of launch angle guys for the Twins who also draw lots of walks.
