One of the most important key to achieving early success is coming to an agreement on a contract w/ the team that traded up to draft you and set you up w/ a room in Rodgers mansion.

As long as it’s done by the start of camp, I’m good. One good way to guarantee your second year’s salary is to play really well in your first year. I hope his agent reminds him of that when push comes to shove. I’m all for players getting everything they can get, but at a certain point -especially with these slotted deals- it’s just not worth it.

Without having any idea who his agent is, I’m pretty confident that it’s agent driven. Pick #64 gets their second year fully guaranteed while pick #65 has no guarantees beyond the first year. The guy who breaks that will have something to brag about. It is something of a worthy fight, but playing well as a rookie will provide some guarantees, too.
