SUorangefootball
To all Jet fans, There may be no better time in Jets history then the present, want proof? They no longer have a coach who can’t tell time. Their Offensive leader is not under the knife this off season for the first time in 2 years. Their Defense is only getting better. They are young and full of potential leaders. They have three selections from the top 50 college football players in the nation. They are in tremendous salary cap shape with a very smart man running the budget who also knows how to let the football men do their job. There is NO question as to who the definitive leader of the New York Jets organization is, and as is the case with every successful organization, that person is the Head Coach. The Jets have changed their player’s work ethic and expectation level in 1 year an almost unheard of accomplishment. If Coach Mangini can put together 7 years like the one we just had, our organization will be .500 by 2014 the latest. This season the Jets managed to beat the Patriots at their own game, on their turf, and Tom Brady was not able to execute a comeback in the last minute as he seems to do every other time he touches the ball. That game spoke volumes about what type of team the Jets are crafting, and what their mentality is. Yes, they lost in the playoffs but, ask yourself this question. Was it easier to loose the way the Jets did (with few superstars and a true team concept simply getting beat man up), or would it have been better to go 14-2, Have the best player at his position in the NFL at RB, TE, DT, OLB and STILL blow every chance in the world to win on your home turf because you know you were out coached, under disciplined and simply out lasted? The future is clear Jet fans, this franchise is on its way to becoming a consistent respectable winner, that may win a Superbowl or two in the next decade and a half. The question is, will the Jet fans be smart enough to sit back and enjoy the ride, or will they turn on this organization’s leadership and expect them to win 5 Superbowls in the next 7 years in order to keep up with the Patriots dynasty or be run out of town? There truly may not be as good a time in the Jets history or future as the one we are living in, so celebrate, be thankful for, and most importantly, enjoy what we have.
