Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings Quarterback Quincy Carter has been suspended for the team's next game for missing a team meeting. Team owner Dan Newman told KSLA News 12 that Carter was extremely upset about the suspension when he found out about it. The Wings practice yesterday was locked down as new quarterback Gary Cooper tried to gel with his first team offense. The Wings play Manchester on Friday night at the CenturyTel Center at 7:35 pm. The Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings have suspended quarterback Quincy Carter for at least one game for missing an unspecified number of team meetings according to Battle Wings operating manager Dan Newman.

"Quincy missed some meetings and has been suspended due to af2 rules,'' Newman said. "He won't be with the team for Friday's game.''

The Battle Wings host the Manchester Wolves on Friday at 7:35 p.m.

Carter was informed of the decision at Wednesday's practice at Independnce Stadium.

"Like anyone else would be, he was upset,'' Newman said.

In Carter's place, former BTW and Grambling quarterback Gary Cooper will get the start for the 5-1 Battle Wings.

Battle Wings coach Jon Norris wasn't immediately available for comment.
