Bill Bellicheck is the most hated Jet of all time.  You didn't say player, you said ex-Jet.  Bill was the head coach for 1 day, and he quit.

Personally, the player I dislike the most is John Riggins.

He is a HOF running back, who wanted off of the Jets because he felt he wasn't featured enough.

I watched him go to Washington and help them win a superbowl, knowing that he forced himself off of the Jets.

In any context?  Draft choice?  FA signing?

For free agents: I hate hate hate Jason Taylor and the sight of him in a Jets uni was nauseating and simply WRONG.
For draft picks:  It's Gholston.  He didn't even try.  At least Zach put out an effort.

I think he wanted out because the Jets sucked the entire time he was with the team. They were 3-11 in his last season with the team, his first 1000 yard season. They were 3-11 the next two years, too. Dude was an original who sat out a season with the Redskins, too, over money. Despite all that, he’s one of my favorites.

Not sure anyone else is on the same tier in terms of 1) being utterly unlikable with an entitled personality and zero accountability who also 2) actively, badly damaged the team during every year of his tenure.

Santino Holmes is a pretty good one I guess, but at least he was a major playmaker during 2010 which is probably the best overall year of Jets football I’ve seen.

Names like Jason Taylor and Kellen Winslow Jr barely register in the history of the Jets.

What you say is not true.  Riggins openly said that he wanted to be the #1 guy in NY, and couldn't be that with Namath.  Also he stated that he wanted to run the ball more than pass it.  That couldn't happen with the Jets.

Yes, when he was leaving the Jets, he wanted to go play for a winner, and that is why it was Washington.  But being a loser was absolutely not the reason that Riggins stated for wanting off the Jets.  Again, Riggins is a player I disliked very much.

Honorable mention to IK Enemkpali, for breaking his teammates jaw over a reported $600 and then going off to the Bills, coming out as team captain while facing us and helping to ruin our playoff chances. Maybe the only player I can think of too low class for a 2010s Jets roster.

This guy. He'd celebrate when passes went incomplete in his general area, due to circumstances he had nothing to do with, as if he'd caught a game winning pick six. I think he has the record for committing three consecutive 15 yard penalties in three plays.  And as a first round pick, he  should also be eligible for the worthless bust list. The scout that recommended him should still be serving hard time in Leavenworth.

I generally don't think about this concept enough to really dislike anyone.  I say it a lot, but it isn't personal.  Play well for MY laundry, great, play poorly or extort MY laundry, then sod off.  Really is as simple as that for me, it's all about the Jets, not the players as human beings generally.  I don't hold bad players as "hated" once they're gone, they just failed, and we moved on.  As it should be.

The one guy I really hated as a person was Mike Vick, the Dogkiller.  His dogfighting is something I can't forgive him for (and I'm not a dog guy, I'm a cat guy, but hurting animals for fun/pleasure is reprehensible to me).

The Raiders guy who drunk-drove-killed that poor girl and her dog by hitting them and subsequently siting there while she and the dog burned alive, another example of unforgiveable.  

Guys who abuse/beat up their women.  Ditto.  Although you always have to be careful in domestic, there's often more than meets the eye/video.

Beyond that?  Meh, we've had plenty of dumb or dislikeable players over the years, many who did or said dumb things, but again, if they played well, great, if not, or if they extorted us (Revis) then **** um.  I even get why they'd extort us, but I side with my team, not the labor (rare for me, I'm usually a labor guy).

So yeah, short answer, Vick.  

Bonus Answer:  I'm not usually a fan of signing rival teams old stars.  Call me old school, but that rivalry means something to me and I don't want to root for a career-long Pat or Dolphin in their declining years.  Again, not personal tho.

For me this was the turning point that no one talks about . Remember in year 2 when he got hurt in the preseason ? It came out of his camp, that he would not be returning to play until HIS  doctors cleared him 100% !!!

 

imagine being his teammate that plays through  pain and this entitled kid has to be 100% pain free . Then came from New England debacle  And also late last year him faking that concussion.

 

Good riddance. No one ruined more Sunday afternoons for me then Zach Wilson.
