About one-third of the schedule has been played. It has become too late, finally, to say it is still early. There are enough at-bats and innings to begin to formulate an impression of the season and also to surmise what clubs need to flourish the next four months. Here are three thoughts each for the two New York clubs after the holiday weekend: METS 1. Heath Bell and Aaron Heilman must be productive.
