Maybe, just maybe, Browns will let Romeo go to Dolphins (for a small price)

CHUDZINSKI CANCELS INTERVIEW

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Browns offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski has canceled a planned interview with the Ravens for the team's vacant head-coaching position.

Chudzinski reportedly phoned Ravens G.M. Ozzie Newsome over the weekend to inform him of the decision, and Chudzinski reportedly explained that he wants to maintain stability in Cleveland.

Though we applaud Chudzinski for knowing what he wants to do and staying true to it, there's something to be said for getting experience interviewing for a head-coaching gig, even if you don't want to take the job. The goal of the coaching profession is upward mobility, and it's a given that coaches will move from city to city in search of one of the 32 most coveted jobs in the industry.

So maybe Chudzinski knows something about his own future in Cleveland that the rest of us don't. After all, current head coach Romeo Crennel is 60, and he likely won't be pulling a Paterno. With the performance of the offense in 2007 and the presence of long-term anchors like Braylon Edwards and Joe Thomas and either Brady Quinn or Derek Anderson (or both), the table could be set for Chudzinski to get a head-coaching job without ever having to interview for it.
