NFL close to agreement to talk to Walsh

If you find out that somebody rigged a game and made tens or even hundreds of millions of dollars, do you let them keep the money?

Wow. That is some leap.

Fisher says it is ok to use binoculars to "steal signals" and write them down. It is illegal and the Patriots were punished for taping.

How do you go from how signals are stolen to rigging games?

Which is what the NFL would be accussed of if they buried this? Again, why risk a 17 billion dollar contract for one team?

If Spector had a smoking gun, he would use it. All he has is a golf pro from Hawaii who is asking for protection and not coorperating despite the team saying he can talk.

Again, I ask JN to answer this question?

Are the Patriots bigger then the NFL? Or is the NFL bigger then the Patriots?

The answer is obvious.

Goodell is not going to risk the NFL for the sake of the Patriots.

The Patriots are but one piece of the NFL pie. If there was this great cover-up as you think, the NFL would risk billions of dollars.

The price of the Patriots legacy versus the state of the league is a no-brainer. The league comes first.

That is the choice today but that was not the choice they thought they were facing six months ago. Six months ago this all looked like it could be contained and swept under the rug. There was not even the faintest inkling that Congress was interested in any of this. They rolled the dice.

In any event if Cheating were shown to have happened persistently and in the biggest sporting event (outside of a world cup) on the planet, then it was never going to be just a Patriots thing to begin with. So yopu are offering a false choice here. Sure the Patriots would get slammed first and even the hardest but class-action lawsuits would be filed against the entire NFL for permitting this to happen so there was no real way that this could be neatly contained up in New England.

This was all about attempting to contain the damage.

It is still all about that. From the perspective of the NFL there is no other alternative path.

Are you saying that in a game decided by three points where the winning team might have had numerous informational advantages over the other team because they broke the rules to acquire that information that this does not reflect and unfair playing field?

So you are buying into the idea the BB authorized these activities for eight years but no competetive advantage was gained from it?

And no... If Specter had a smoking gun then the first thing he going to try and do is to suck everybody into public denials BEFORE he uses it. Just like Clemens.

Wow.

You must be slow because you're missing the whole point by trying to spin everything Cheater style.
