May 22 (Bloomberg) -- An Atlanta Braves' fan died after falling four stories inside Turner Field during last night's game against the New York Mets.

The Major League Baseball team and the Atlanta Police Department are investigating the death, the team said in a statement.

The man was identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office as Justin Hayes, 25, of Cumming, Georgia, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said.

``Our sincerest and heartfelt condolences go out to his family,'' the Braves said.

Alcohol may have been involved in the accident, the newspaper said, citing Atlanta Police spokesman Rob Campbell.

Hayes was sliding on a handrail in the bottom of the eighth inning of Atlanta's 11-4 win over New York when he slipped off and fell to the field level, striking a metal railing and concrete, the newspaper said.

Last month, a Mets fan, Antonio Nararainsami, died in a similar fall at Shea Stadium. Police said the 36-year-old Brooklyn man was attending a game with his daughters and lost his balance while trying to slide down an escalator handrail.

Maybe if the mets were a little more competitive, this guy wouldnt have been bored and tried sliding down the railing. If it was close, he would still be in his seat...

Nice job Willie and the Mets. All season you have given Mets fans heartburn. But now you've killed someone with your lackluster play.
