Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets rookie S Kerry Rhodes will start at strong safety for the team Sunday, Sept. 11. Rhodes didn't start any of the four preseason games but showed a big-play knack whenever he came into the game with three interceptions, tied for the NFL's preseason lead. His one weak spot was making the secondary calls, which all the Jets' safeties have to do. He was able to improve on that skill the last two weeks of practice when he saw a lot of work with the first-team defense.
