GreenReaper
Thought I'd have some fun and make a round 1 Mock. REAPER'S MOCK DRAFT 1. LIONS - Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia He's the new face that this franchise so desperately needs. 2. RAMS - Jason Smith, OT, Baylor Orlando Pace was a great LT, so those sheos are hard to fill. But IMO, Jason is the best one in this Draft...and he will be the best fit for this shoe. Oh...the Sanchez talk...IMO...Rams are blowing smoke. 3. CHIEFS - Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest MIKE-WILL-SAM,...you name it, and Curry will be the perfect spice ingredient. 4. SEAHAWKS - Mark Sanchez, QB, USC QB or OT...Hasselbeck may be healthy enough this year...but Mark will be their future. For this year...he will sit and learn. Walter Jones' replacement will be addressed in the 2nd round. 5. BROWNS - B.J. RAJI, NT, Boston College Mangini does exactly what Charlie Casserly said they should do(and I wanted the Jets to do with Raji or Ron Brace)they put Raji at NT, and move Shaun Rogers to 3-4 DE, and give Browns two Beasts on the LOS, to give the offenses fits. 6. BENGALS - Eugene Monroe - OT, Virginia They know what its like not to have Palmer around most of the season...pretty sh*tty. So they try to keep him upright with Monroe. 7. RAIDERS - Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech You know AD can get ornery and crabtree. 8. JAGUARS - Andre Smith, OT, Alabama No Sanchez...no Raji...and they signed Holt, so they address their OL. 9. PACKERS - Brian Orapko, OLB-DE, Texas Versatile pass rushing demon. Can play OLB and some DE for a hybrid 3-4 D. 10.49ERS - Michael Oher - OT, Mississippi Oher may start at RT this year(to get acclimated to the speed of the game and the pass rush), then switch with LT Joe Staley, the following year, allowing the struggling Staley to move to the RT position...at least that's what I'm hearing is a real possibility.. Oher and Staley as their bookends for next 8+ years, will provide strong stability for their OL. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=69&f=3003&t=4248922 11. BILLS - Everette Brown - DE-OLB, Florida State Bills are in desperate need of improving their pass rush, and Everette can do that at DE or OLB. 12.BRONCOS - Tyson Jackson, DE-DT, LSU Since this is a year of transition for the Broncos D, switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4. Jackson can be easily used as a 3-4 DE, or as 4-3 DT, if at tmes they need to switch back. In either position, Jackson will be a big upgrade in shoring up the Broncos' porous run defense. 13. REDSKINS - Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee No OL or Sanchez...so they take care of their DE needs with a Mayock favorite; that definately has the upside to be both a good penetrater that can pressure the QB and very solid against the run. 14. SAINTS - Malcolm Jenkins, CB-S, Ohio State Saints need help in their awful secondary...and Jenkins is the safest bet to provide a major upgrade anywhere they play him. 15. OILERS - Brian Cushing, OLB, USC With Antonio Smith signed to play DE, Oilers now turn to upgrade the LB position. They will probably use Cushing primarily as an OLB, but he's versatile to play inside too. 16. CHARGERS - Rey Maualuga, ILB, USC Chargers can use the physical presence and impact play that Maualuga can give them. To fill out their RB rotation, they like Andre Brown, and will try and get him, or an equivolent, in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. 17. JETS - Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri Yes...it can happen. When I had Seahawks taking Sanchez, and Browns taking Raji(Charlie Casserly had Browns doing this in his Mock a couple of days ago; to have Raji play NT, and move Shaun Rogers to 3-4 DE...same as my idea of playing Jenkins at 3-4 DE, with either Raji or Brace as the NT) it just started to fall like this. Last piece of surprise was the idea rumored about the 49ers taking Oher for eventual LT; but first acclimating him to the NFL game, by playing him at RT this year, then switching him to LT next year, putting Joe Staley to the RT position, where they prefer him to play. 18. BRONCOS - Aaron Maybin. OLB-DE, Penn State Broncos need lots of defensive help. Maybin's pass rush skills can be utilized as a 3-4 OLB, and on ocasions when they go 4-3, he can be their situational pass rusher at DE. 19. BUCCANEERS - Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State Leftwich isn't their QB answer, just part of the bandaid brigade of QBs(Griese-McCown-Etc.) Lefty & Company can hold the fort a year or two, while Freeman is developing, eventually taking over as the starter. 20. LIONS - Eben Britton, OT, Arizona Maybe a Vontae Davis or a Laurinatis are better value here, but you've got to protect your QB investment by addressing the OL. Britton is the best of the OTs left...and that's why he probably won't be there at #33. 21. EAGLES - Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia Moreno is a very good fit for Andy Reids offense with Westbrook. 22. VIKINGS - Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois Wanted an OT...but good value meets good need at CB. 23. PATRIOTS - Clay Mathews, OLB, USC BB continues the overhawl of the LB positions, with Mathews. 24. FALCONS - Connor Barwin, OLB-DE-TE Multipositional player that is very athletic and coachable. Can be a situational pass rusher, either as OLB or DE, and a 2nd TE if needed. 25. DOLPHINS - Darius Butler, CB, Bosto College Darius ran a 4.38 on his Pro Day...Parcels knows that with Brady back pitching to Moss, he needs to get a speedy corner if he wants his Phins not to be embarassed by BB's Pats. 26. RAVENS - Darius Heyward-Bey, WR, Maryland Britt or Bey...they said Bey. Latest rumors say, that the previous latest rumor, reporting that the Raven will trade for Boldin, is not likely to happen. 27. COLTS - Peria Jerry, DT, Mississippi Colts need to shore up the interior of their DL. 28. BILLS - Brandon Pettigrew, TE,, Oklahoma State The TE Bills have been craving, for the both the running game, and being a big friendly target for a QB to throw to. 29. GIANTS - Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers After the Burress mess...oh mercy no Percy for them. 30. TITANS - Alex Mack, C,Californis Mawae can't play forever...so Titans replace him with the best center in the draft...just like the Jets did replacing Mawae with Mangold. 31. CARDINALS - Beanie Wells, RB, Ohio State Cards were going to take D.Brown...but were surprised to see Beanie fell to them. 32. Steelers - William Beaty, OT, Connecticut Steelers need OL help and Beaty is the highest one left on their board. An athletic tackle with good upside.
