vanDoug
I know it's only week one, but just like Brees did last year, Rattay's got a hot shot college QB waiting in the wings for him to falter. SF has Philly next week, I may have my answer then. d
124
Possibly, but there's no chance the 49ers have the same success and post a 12-4 record, although after yesterday, 8-8 could be likely, but you know, it could all be Week 1 smoke and the Niners could end up 3-13, we shall see as time goes on. Rattay though could eaisly put up numbers like Brees. I personally didn't think the Niners should've drafted Smith because I believe Tim Rattay can be a quality starter in this league for them. Guess the San Fran FO felt a little bit different then I did.
Jetfanmack
No. Brees was a highly successful and highly productive college QB. He should have been a first rounder in that draft. Rattay was a 6th rounder who really isn't as good as Brees is. Not to mention, Brees had Tomlinson, Gates, Caldwell, Parker, and McCardell. Rattay doesn't have one option as good as any of them.
