Jared Ballman's tenure with the New York Jets was an extremely short one.

The former University of Washington punter/kicker was waived recently along with undrafted free agent defensive tackle Mick Williams and safety Brannon Condren.

He was with the team for less than a week.

At Washington, Ballman averaged 39.7 yards per punt and converted 2 of 7 field goals.

So to be clear, they cut a guy who was a mediocre-to-crappy punter and horrid kicker in college? What the hell did they even sign him for in the first place?

Probably just for an extra leg for mini camp.

More then likely they will bring in another kicker for TC for the same reason
