Trufant, who was waived by the Jets on Jan. 22, was signed off the Jets practice squad on Dec. 30. Because the waiver period is 10 days in the playoffs, not 24 hours, Trufant wasn’t claimed until this Tuesday (Feb. 1). A source said that had the Eagles not claimed him, Trufant likely would have cleared waivers and been signed to a future contract by the Jets. Trufant, the younger brother of Seattle Seahawks CB Marcus Trufant, played in the UFL for the majority of the last two seasons.
