Titans wide receiver and former Rutgers standout Kenny Britt was driving in Bayonne on Tuesday around 4:30 p.m. when he was stopped by police for speeding. But, according to multiple reports, Britt hit the gas and attempted to evade the cops instead of pulling over.

The cops eventually caught up to him a few miles later as he was walking away from the vehicle.

According to the popular gossip site TMZ, Britt was arrested for 2nd degree eluding and obstruction. His passenger -- who apparently tried to bolt during questioning as well -- was nabbed for possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

Foxsports.com's Jay Glazer said that Britt was arrested on three counts, including evading arrest and lying to police.

Britt was also caught up in a night club incident in Nashville back in October as well as an arrest in 2010 for too many outstanding traffic warrants.
