Jetsfan80
Normally I'd advocate for at least 24 hours after a win to celebrate, but with the Pats coming up on Thursday night there's not much of a turnaround time. Gronk's availability is probably the biggest factor in our chances Thursday night, as there's simply no one who can cover him. Zach Sudfeld disappointed in his debut, Brady struggled to get on the same page with Kenbrell Thompkins, and his top receiver was Julian Edelman with whom he has the most familiarity. Amendola looked good but how long until he gets hurt again? Part of me thinks Belichick will hurry Gronk back for the game against us, but with the short week, A Week 3 or even Week 4 return has seemed more likely. The most recent information seemed to support this: http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/9647822/new-england-patriots-rule-rob-gronkowski-opener-buffalo-bills Source: Gronk likely out Week 2, too Updated: September 8, 2013, 12:09 PM ET By Mike Reiss | ESPN.com It's also unlikely Gronkowski will be ready for the Patriots' second game, Thursday against the New York Jets, according to a source. Without Gronkowski, the Patriots will enter Sunday's game with just two tight ends -- four-year veteran Michael Hoomanawanui and rookie Zach Sudfeld. That likely means the team won't run a majority of its plays out of multiple tight end packages, instead relying on three-receiver groupings, or tapping fullback James Develin in two-back sets. Hoomanawanui (6-foot-4, 260 pounds) would project to more of an inline blocking role, while Sudfeld (6-7, 260) is more of a "move" tight end. In addition to Gronkowski, the Patriots also declared rookie receiver Aaron Dobson [hamstring], running back Brandon Bolden [knee], offensive lineman Will Svitek [knee], and safeties Nate Ebner [ankle] and Duron Harmon [hamstring] to out for Sunday's game. In part to account for Bolden's absence in a reserve role, the Patriots also re-signed veteran running back Leon Washington on Saturday, while promoting rookie guard Josh Kline to the active roster. brian101193
I think they'll bench him one more week, if they wait till after Thursday we gets another 10 days to heal up.
SweetLee83
They've been saying all along he's eyeing Week 3 for a return, and with the extra break with the Thursday game with you guys, it makes sense.
Il Mostro
No worries -- just have Richardson shadow him and flatten him at the line of scrimmage on every down.
