GREENSMACKS
i totally disagree with his statement that we should look at leinhart, he too has questionable arm strength. i thought he was contradicting himself by saying we should take leinhart yet we cant invest that much in to the qb position due to pennington. Even with the Jets having needs on offense is possible they might take A.J. Hawk to play along side Vilma? Mel Kiper: First of all, they have to decide whether Chad Pennington will be back from injury and be the starting QB. They would eat a lot of money if they get rid of him, but can they pass on Leinart with the uncertainty about Pennington's shoulder. They definitely could use a stud RB like Reggie Bush if Pennington is back, but if he's not they HAVE to go for Leinart. Money will be an issue and they can't worry about the defense until they straighten that out.

faba
The Jets have too much invested in Pennington to go with Leinart at the top of the draft- The one thing I know for sure I want a QB with some arm strength to throw downfield not a guy like Leinart anyway

Preston Howley III
They are not going to draft a QB. Because- 1. They are joined at the hip with Pennington 2. He'll see as much daylight as Aaron Rogers. 3. Terry and Herm need to "win now" (or at least they think they do, but I don't why- when you are 2-10 and the owner says you're doing a fabulous job, I guess they would have to go 0-12 to get fired). In Terry, Herm, and Woody's mind, the only reason the Jets are 3-11 is because Mawae, Pennington and Martin were on IR this year. They think that next year, all will be swell once those guys get back in the starting line-up. Nobody in a position of authority, getting paid millions of dollars, has addressed the defensive situation; they have completely dismissed the fact that idiots like Celestin were talking sht all pre-season, and then got smoked out of their pants on opening day. This is a team with 4 #1 draft picks on the D-line that can't stop the run. This team is an abortion. And Terry and Herm are responsible. There is no accountability. There is no player development. Just perpetual moments of crisis, followed by panic moves that continue to exacerbate the problem, and then the obligatory excuses, that Herm propagandists and apologists in the media validate. But hey, Woody thinks everything is A-OK. The other owners in the league have re-assured him that "these things happen". What a disgrace this team is.
