deadringer
people kiss his ass cause (a) they feel bad that such a talented quarterback was stuck playing for such a garbage team (the saints) and ( they are afraid that offending him will offend his children...least thats my assumption... NIGHT STALKER
Guys, if you look only at stats, they are very deceptive. Archie probably played on the worst team in the history of the game...I'm that old that I can remember him vividly. When you get a chance, look at Namath's stats...more INT's than TD's...it came with the territory back then when airing it out meant exactly what it was supposed to be...let it fly! Writeguy
You probably never got the chance to see him play. When Archie Manning was at Ol' Miss, he was something special. Probably more athletic than either of his sons. Should have won the Heisman, but got nosed out by Ed Marinaro, as I recall. Nevertheless, had he landed with even a halfway decent NFL team, his legacy would be unquestioned.
Maxman
Namath's stats aren't that great. Yet he gets lots of a$$ kissing in these parts.
