2004: Started 15 games at defensive tackle...Provided 55 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 14 quarterback hurries, one forced fumble, one interception and four passes defensed...Member of defense that led NFL with 26 interceptions and ranked second with 38 take-aways...Team finished fourth in the League with a plus 12 turnover differential...Unit established team single-season marks for interceptions and interception return yards, surpassing previous marks of 24 interceptions and 374 interception return yards in 2001...Tied record for take-aways that had been achieved in 1996 and 2000...Inactive with an injured right knee at Denver (10/10).

2003: Started all 12 games in which he appeared for Panthers. Was inactive for four games, including the last two, due to sore knee. Registered 31 tackles, three batted passes, one forced fumble, half a sack and 11 quarterback hurries. Added 15 tackles, eight quarterback hurries, 1.5 sacks and two batted passes in four post-season games including Super Bowl XXXVIII.

2002: Brentson started 12 games at defensive tackle and accumulated 47 tackles, five sacks, 18 quarterback hurries, one fumble recovery and tied his career-high with five batted passes. A key member of a Carolina defensive line that ranked third in the League with 39 sacks, Brentson contributed to a unit that led the NFL in sacks per pass play and rushing yards per attempt, and his sack total made the Panthers one of two teams in the NFL to boast five players with at least five sacks. He was suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the banned substance policy.

2001: Brentson played in all 16 games and started the final 10 contests of the season for Carolina. He accumulated 50 tackles, the second-highest total of his career, in addition to producing four and a half sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, six quarterback hurries, two batted passes and a pass defensed.

2000: Brentson started all 16 games for the 49ers for the second time of his career and enjoyed his most productive NFL season while leading all San Francisco defensive linemen in tackles. He registered career highs of 61 tackles and six sacks, in addition to contributing one forced fumble and four batted passes at defensive end for the 49ers.

1999: Brentson played in 16 games for San Francisco with five starts at defensive tackle for the 49ers and was responsible for 44 tackles, one sack and three batted passes.

1998: Signed as an unrestricted free agent by San Francisco (5/26), Brentson played in 13 games as a reserve defensive tackle and collected 16 tackles, half a sack, three batted passes and a fumble recovery. He also saw action in both playoff contests, contributing seven tackles.

1997: Traded to Kansas City (4/4) by Pittsburgh for a seventh-round draft choice, Brentson was waived by the Chiefs (8/24) and claimed by Cincinnati (8/25) where he appeared in 14 games with four starts and registered 39 tackles and two forced fumbles. He was inactive for two games due to a sprained knee suffered versus Pittsburgh (10/19). He started at nose tackle at Pittsburgh (11/16), versus Jacksonville (11/23) and at Philadelphia (11/30) and started at right defensive end versus Dallas (12/14).

1996: Brentson played in 15 games for the Steelers with 14 starts in addition to appearing in one playoff game. He recorded 35 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery during the regular season and a tackle in the playoffs.

1995: Brentson started 16 games and all three postseason contests for Pittsburgh, including Super Bowl XXX against Dallas. He registered 11 starts at left defensive end and five starts at nose tackle for an injured Joel Steed. Brentson produced 48 tackles, three sacks, one forced fumble, a fumble recovery and ranked third on the team with 24 quarterback pressures during the regular season in addition to totaling four tackles during the playoffs.

1994: Originally selected by Pittsburgh in the second round (50th overall), Brentson played in 13 games with five starts and made starts in both playoff contests. He was responsible for 18 tackles, two sacks, one fumble recovery and six quarterback hurries. Brentson registered nine tackles and a team-high two sacks during the postseason.
